Vancouver Public Library is currently seeking a Writer in Residence in order to highlight the importance of Canadian writing and creativity. In 2022 the library will host a Fall Residency.
Our writer in residence program promotes Canadian writing and literature to Vancouver citizens. During the four-month residency, the writer spends 50% of their time working on their own project and 50% of their time mentoring emerging writers, conducting workshops and participating in other activities and programs to share their experience with the community.
This year it’s an open call for authors of any genre and format. As part of the Library’s commitment to celebrate diverse community voices, applicants from equity-denied groups including Indigenous, Black and people of colour, individuals with disabilities and those from other marginalized and/or underrepresented groups (including Japanese Canadian) are strongly encouraged to consider this opportunity.
Full details including how to apply are on our website at https://www.vpl.ca/writer
The deadline is March 31st.
