メトロバンクーバー在住の有志が、元旦に発生した2024年能登半島地震で被災者の支援のためのチャリティイベントの開催を計画しています。この地震は広範な地域と多くの人々に甚大な被害をもたらし、主催者はその再建と復興に協力することを目指しています。

イベントへの入場は寄付制になっており、コミュニティ全体が気持ちを一つにして団結し参加することを歓迎いたします。 集まった寄付金は全額を在バンクーバー日本国総領事館に引き渡し、被災地域に直接寄付されます。このイベントの開催においては、日系センターからは会場の確保などにおいて多大なご支援をいただきました。
「私たちは個人やコミュニティが集結したら新しい力が生まれると信じています。このイベントはメトロバンクーバーの住民が石川県、特に能登半島の方々にエールを送る機会です」と、イベントの主催者の一人である渡辺雅之さんは述べています。「私たちの寄付額は他と比べて少ないかも知れませんが、カナダからの思いと祈りが被災地の皆さんに届くことを願っています。」
イベントでは地元グループによるパフォーマンスや参加者同士の連携がより深まることを願っています。そのため、主催者はイベントの案内を広めていただく「サポーター」となる団体、企業、個人を募集しています。なお、「サポーター」の皆様にはご協力のお礼として、ポスターなどに名前を掲載させていただきます。

“Noto Night” @ Nikkei Centre
A Fundraiser for those affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake
A group of Metro Vancouver residents is holding a fundraising event to provide aid and support to those affected by the New Year’s Day 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake. This tragic event has left many individuals and communities in need, and the organizers are dedicated to helping them rebuild and recover.
Date: February 17 (Sat), 2024
Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Doors open at 6:00 PM)
Location: Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre (Nikkei Centre)

Admission to this event is by donation, and the community is invited to join in a spirit of solidarity. All the money raised will be handed over to the Consulate-General of Japan in Vancouver and will go directly towards the affected communities. In addition, Nikkei Centre has generously cooperated with securing the venue and resources.
“We believe in the power of individuals and the community coming together to make a difference, and this event is an opportunity for Metro Vancouver residents to show their support for the people of Ishikawa Prefecture, particularly the Noto Peninsula,” said Mas Watanabe, one of the event organizers. “Our contribution may be small compared to others, but we hope that our thoughts and prayers from Canada will reach those in the affected areas.”
The event will feature live entertainment by local community groups and an opportunity for attendees to connect with each other. The organizers are looking for groups, companies and individuals as “supporters” to spread the word about the event. All the “supporters” will be acknowledged for their cooperation.
